It was a Cinderella season, winning 14 straight games to bring home a real life league championship to small farming community in North Central Iowa. In turn, it created a campus hockey culture where fans would make the hour Sunday drive to Buccaneer Arena, tailgate then cheer on their Melons to victory.. We call this, Small Town Hockey.
